Holt is a delightful
Georgian market town
with a
superb collection of fine buildings at its heart, is surrounded by woodland
and parkland areas. It is a haven for artists, photographers, walkers
and riders - a town for all seasons.
Holt is a busy town (for Norfolk!), and an excellent place for tourists
and visitors to explore its high quality shops, arts and crafts, pubs
and restaurants. These are all within a short stroll of the town centre
and set in the many alleyways and courtyards that give the town a character
of its own. The town is only 4 miles from the coast at Cley and Blakeney,
and the City of Norwich is about 30 minutes drive away.

Activities: Bowls, cycling, canoe and dingy sailing at Blakeney,
sea and lake fishing, orienteering and walking are but a few.
Eating Out: Numerous restaurants, cafes, bistros and take-aways
cater for all tastes, from Chinese, Indian, Continental and English a
la Carte to the traditional Fish and Chip shop serving locally caught
fish and shellfish. Blakeney Mussels and Cromer Crabs are a must in season.
Exploring: Art Galleries; the horse drawn coach "The Holt Flyer"
takes you from the town centre to the nearby station of the North Norfolk
Steam Railway which allows one to enjoy a "journey back in time" to Sheringham,
dining if you wish in the Pullman Coach.
Shopping: Concentrates around the High Street, Market Place, Chapel
Yard and Bull Street, with a wide variety of shops ranging from small
boutiques, antique shops, country clothing, jewellers, milliners, craft
shops and gift shops to a traditional department store stocking a very
wide range of quality products. Other shops provide a wide range of services
and goods. Arts and crafts are well catered for, with artist's supplies
available from the local gallery. Traditional country fare abounds; this
small town currently enjoying several butchers including a pork butcher,
fresh fish shops, country vegetable shops, numerous delicatessen, fresh
bread and cake shops, a mini-market and a supermarket just off the shopping
centre.
